This collection of six fine art postcards is drawn from the Prelude Editions series, adapted from original charcoal works inspired by William Wordsworth’s The Prelude (1850). Each design traces one of Wordsworth’s most powerful “spots of time” — skating on a frozen lake, imagining an ancient figure on Sarum’s Plain, encountering the shepherd and his sheep like Greenland bears, the intimacy of man and nature, the tumult of London crowds, and the Arab and his dromedary crossing vast distances.
Printed on 300gsm Fresco Gesso textured cardstock, each postcard carries Wordsworth’s own lines on the reverse, offering a fragment of the poem that inspired the image. Together, the six designs form a compact anarchive of memory, imagination, and landscape — a set to collect, send, or display.
